Starting this trimester, parents must sign up through the online form at the following link: http://wiscommunity.wikispaces.com/Beyzyma+Campus+Extra-Curricular There will be no paper forms to fill in! Classes with limited space will still be on a first come, first served basis. If a class no longer appears on the online form, it is because it is full. Program Overview Beyzyma Campus Activities These Extra-Curricular Activities will run from March 25th- June 12thon Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. There will be no activities on June 4th-5th due to Green School. There will be no activities the last 2 weeks of school due to the Spring Concert and public holiday.
Program Description ESL Group A These lessons will use play-based learning and drama to practise new vocabulary and grammar. There is no cost for this class. Activity Leader: Mrs. Anna Wise Grade Level: 1-2 Time: Thursdays, 14:45-15:30 Location: Beyzyma Campus Classroom Number of Participants: unlimited ESL Group B These lessons will use play-based learning to practise new vocabulary and grammar. Program Description BALLET Students will be taking ballet lessons from a professional dance instructor. The overall price will be divided by the number of students participating. If the participation remains the same as last trimester, the price will be 109PLN per student. If more students join, the price will be lower. If less students join, the price will be higher. This one time payment covers all 8lessons. Students who did not do ballet last trimester are still free to join! Program Description JUDO Students will be taking judo lessons from a professional judo instructor. The overall pricewill be divided by the number of students participating. If the participation remains the same as last trimester, the price will be 120 PLN per student. If more students join, the price will be lower. If less students join, the price will be higher. This one time payment covers all 11lessons. Students should wear P.E. clothes. Judo is a physical activity based on many other disciplines, such as gymnastics, sumo and team games. Learning the basics of judo develops self-discipline, teamwork, bravery and being respectful of others. Students who did not do judo last trimester are still free to join! Program Description POTTERY A AND B The children will participate in creating beautiful, unique objects that are decorative and useful. These activities will help develop their coordination, fine motor skills, creativity and knowledge of design. Instructors will come from the Glinolandia pottery school. They will take the works of pottery to be fired in their kiln outside of school and then return the works to the children. There will be a one time fee of 220 PLN to cover all the materials. Materials will be provided by the instructors. Activity Leader: Miroslawa Hass and Paulina Stawisinska Grade Level: Pre-Kindergarten and Kindergarten in one class, Grades 1-4 in another Time: Tuesdays, 14:45-15:30 Location: Beyzyma Campus Classrooms Number of Participants: 8-15 in each class. Students who did not do pottery last trimester are still free to join!
Program Description HEALTHY FOOD CLUB Students will learn about healthy nutrition, the different food groups and how a balanced diet impacts our bodies. Students will spend part of each lesson making a healthy snack and enjoying it! This activity will havea one time costof 30 PLN. This money will be spent on supplies for snacks. Payment should be given to Ms. Monika by the first lesson. Program Description CREATIVITY AND IMAGINATION WORKSHOP We will focus on visual concepts such as colour, shape, pattern, texture or form and our activities will include painting, drawing, sculpting and building. Each class will consist in creating a different project – a decoration, a toy, a picture, etc. – based on a mixed-media technique connected mainly with papercrafts (e.g. collage, origami, papier-mâché). The overall price will be divided by the number of students participating. If the participation remains the same as last trimester, the price will be 159 PLN per student. If more students join, the price will be lower. If less students join, the price will be higher. This one time payment covers all 10 lessons. Students who did not do art last trimester are still free to join! Program Description BEADS AND ACCESSORIES CLUB Children will make lots of accessories using beads, such as necklaces, bracelets, hairbands and earrings. At the end of the 3rd trimester, they will take all of the accessories home. This activity will have a one time cost of 50 PLN to pay for the supplies for the entire trimester. Payment should be given to Ms. Monika by the first lesson. Program Description KENDO KENDO comes directly from ken-jutsu, the traditional Japanese fencing practiced by elite Japanese warriors called Samurai. Kendo lessons ensure proper development for children. They develop concentration, correct body movement and synchronization. At the beginning we do many general physical exercises to develop children’s overall body condition. Then, we practice keiko. Methods of training used in kendo are safe, do not cause any contusions, and they make children stronger mentally as well. Children should bring clothing appropriate for P.E. This activity costs 150 PLN. This covers the cost of the 10 lessons. Program Description JOGGING AND RUNNING CLUB Activity Leader: Ms. Maggie Kerr Grade Level: 1-4 Time: Wednesdays, 14:45-15:30 Location: Beyzyma Campus Grassy Field and Park Grabiszynska Number of Participants: Minimum 4, Maximum unlimited CHESS CLUB Children will learn to play chess, which helps develop logical and strategical thinking, concentration, patience, good memory, solving problem skills and responsibility for one's decisions. The overall cost of the lessons will be divided by the number of students participating. For example, if 4 students join, the cost will be 205 PLN. If 12 students join, the cost will be 69. Activity Leader: Wiktor Lech Grade Level: 1-4 Time: Wednesdays, 14:45-15:30 Location: Beyzyma Campus Classroom Number of Participants: 4-12 By the end of the day, if you're ready to run around, jogging club is for you! We will stretch, go for leisurely runs/walks on the path at the nearby park, and then finish by playing a game in the grass. Students will need to bring water, athletic clothing appropriate for the weather, and have appropriate footwear. Parents are welcome to join! There is no cost.
