  1. Aim: Why does Hamlet plan to feign madness? Do Now: What would you do in Hamlet’s position? How difficult do you imagine it would be? After he hears what the ghost has to tell him, what should Hamlet’s next move be?

  2. Hamlet’s plan • Can Hamlet trust the ghost? (Think Macbeth!) • Let’s think about this… Hamlet’s started off by considering death. Now, the ghost has given him a life’s mission. Perhaps this is a way for Hamlet to inhabit his own life and possibly the throne. However, how can this also be a dangerous endeavor? Who is in control here?
