  2. Fashion Designer This is some of the material that I have. These are some of the things I have sown. This is my sewing machine. (without cover) (with cover)

  3. Salary • An average fashion designer gets 64,530 dollars per year. • They would get 31.02 dollars per hour. I could probably afford a house about the size of this house.

  4. How much you work I want to have a career in actually designing and producing the product. I want to be able to design the product and then make it. Depending on where you work, what company you work for, and your type of job, the amount of hours you work will vary. A fashion designer working 7 days a week works 70-112 hours a week. If there is a new fashion design coming out they might need to work longer hours. The amount of hours vary every week. They can work anywhere from 5-7 days a week. Most work 7 days a week.

  5. Education To be a fashion designer you need to have a high school diploma. It is recommended to go to college and get a associates degree and/or a bachelors degree. If you get a degree you are more likely to get a job. These are two fashion designers working on designing and creating a piece of clothing. (http://www.bls.gov/ooh/arts-and-design/fashion-designers.htm#tab-1)

  6. Special Training You can choose whether or not you get training. Training WILL HELP you get a job though! You will be able to understand how you should do your job. To get experience as a fashion designer you become an intern or work as an assistant designer. This allows you see the design process, and gain knowledge about how the process of making clothing works.

  7. Skills The skills needed to be a fashion designer are… • Organization skills • Creative skills • Artistic skills • Computer skills • Communication skills • Decision making skills • The ability to be detailed • Able to work in groups • Patience • Imaginative

  8. Location New York, USA • London, United Kingdom Paris, France Milan, Italy These are the capitols of fashion. Most clothes and other fashion items are made in these four places. You can get a job as a fashion designer in places other than these. There will probably not be as big of a company though. Fashion designers in those four cities might get paid a higher amount working the same job as someone in another city.

  9. Level Of Difficulty Things that are easy Things that are hard. Getting a job Finding a big company that pays well Going to college to get a degree Going through special training • When you have a job interview it is sometimes easy to show your skills. • You don’t have to go through a lot of college There are more things that are difficult about getting a job as a fashion designer than things that are easy. A fashion designer can be a hard job to get. It is also a hard job to do.

  10. Fashion Design Companies Some of the Fashion Design companies are… • Arizona • Ralph Lauren • L.L. Bean • Lands End These are some of the companies that would offer a fashion design career.

  11. Fashion Designing in the future Fashion designing will not change in the future. If it changes it will increase by a very small percent. It is a good thing that this career isn’t decreasing. It is also a bad thing that it isn’t going to increase. It is a good thing that this career is still going to be here in the future. If this ends up being my career I will be able to maintain it for a long time!

  12. What Does A Fashion Designer Do? Fashion designers create clothing that others will want to wear. They sketch their new design. Then they start to lay out the colors and fabric that they want to use. They then make their design come to life by sewing it together.

  13. ...Continued Part of a fashion designers job is to always know what the next fashion trend is. They have to know the past trends and the current trends to figure this out. A fashion designer creates anything from baby clothes to adult clothes to accessories.

  14. My career I think that this is a good career for me because I have most of the skills needed for this career. I just have to work on a few. I also love to create clothing. This career might not also be good for me because I am not good at drawing. Sketching is a big part of fashion design. Also I don’t want to work long hours. I would want to have some time to be home with my family.
