CERP Completed Four Kabul City Greenhouses • Contract Completion July 2013 • Nine months after Director of Kabul City Greenery Department requested greenhouses, TF Tarpon is closing CERP contract on 4 completed cold frame greenhouses as shown in this slide. • DG of Greenery originally requested more expensive permanent solarium style cold frame structures, but accepted USFOR-A offer of steel hoop production cold frames. • 10m x 50m Cold frames were constructed at three locations at the request of City personnel. • Four cold frames increase Greenery Department flower production capacity 133%. • Because of this project, Directorate of Greenery staff now has more experience preparing data and developing justification for this kind of budget expenditure. • The DG and Deputy DG of Greenery said: • “this grant proposal is good” • “we can use parts of this for other purposes” • “this is the first time we’ve had this information documented” • “we are going to show this proposal to the Mayor” • Administrative and plant production capacity has been built. 24-July-13
