  1. Chocolate! A Webquest for Charlie and the Chocolate Factory

  2. Take the chocolate challenge! • You will begin your chocolate quest with a fun, and short quiz about your knowledge of chocolate. As you read each question, write your answer on your Quest sheet before you click to see if you were correct. Do not worry about wrong answers here. You will not lose points for wrong answers. Just be honest! Here is the website for the quiz: • http://archive.fieldmuseum.org/chocolate/challenge.html

  3. Where in the world? • Cacoa can only be grown in certain locations around the world. Some of these locations produce a very large amount of cacoa while others grow less. • The United States of America is not a cacoa producing country so where do we get our cacoa? • Use the website below to answer the questions in Part 2 on your Web Quest sheet. • http://www.unctad.org/infocomm/anglais/cocoa/market.htm#gha

  4. The long and sweet life of Cocoa • Cacoa (chocolate) has been around for thousands of years. However, it was not always found at your local store wrapped in a pretty package. Use the website below to answer the questions in Part 3 of your Quest sheet. Use only the sections labeled: “Chocolate in the Forest” and “An American Invention”. • http://www.exploratorium.edu/exploring/exploring_chocolate/index.html

  5. From Cocoa to Chocolate Bar • Chocolate bars do not grow on trees! Well, in a way they do. Then again, they don’t really….. Oh, you will just have to find out for yourself. Go to the next website and click through each picture. It is interactive! That means you will click on things to harvest, process, prepare, dry, roast, sort, mix, etc. to make chocolate bars. As you go along, answer the questions on your Quest sheet. Hint: sometimes you will have to click on the pictures for the answer. • http://archive.fieldmuseum.org/chocolate/manufacture_interactive/manufacture.html
