Current Events Tues- Hillary Wed- Hagen Thurs- Amelia Fri- Paul Upcoming Tests/Assignments: Friday- Spelling Test Vocabulary Test Science Test (Organisms) Book Report Due: Sept 25th Class News Our class standout this week is Emilee Cahoon, we are excited to learn more about Emilee on Monday! Make sure that students bring their books they are going to use for their reports on to class Monday; this will be the only day they will have time in class to work on their book reports. Students: Find the misspelled word and tell me on Monday morning to get a treat!
Sept 11th , 2009 Spelling • 1. bouillon- a clear, usually seasoned broth made by straining water in which beef, chicken, etc., has been cooked, or dissolving a commercially prepared bouillon cube in hot water • *The boy used bouillon to make chicken noodle soup. • 2. bullion- gold or silver in the form of bars or ingots • *The pirates melted the gold bullion into coins • 3. calm- free from excitement or passion • *I am calm when I read a good book • 4. Tutankhamen- a king of Egypt of the 18th dynasty • *King Tutankhamen began ruling Egypt as a young man • 5. protozoan- group of single cell, microscopic, organisms. • *The student watched the protozoan move under a microscope List for week of 9/14-9/18 Science Literature & Language Arts Next week in science we will be back with Miss Hunt learning about Organisms. We will be using a class set of science books so make sure students are going over what we talked about in class This week the students learned about… We talked about organization in our papers and learned five different ways to organize our writing. We also went into great detail about how to write a book report. We will have two book reports per term. The books have to be at least 100 pages. There will be two book reports per term. Our first one is due on Sept 25th. Student were given a rubric and guideline showing them exactly what is expected for this book report. Social Studies This past week in social studies we learned about continents and deserts with Mr. Bingham.
