  2. The Power of Music • Music has the ability to bring out a range of emotions • Brings people together

  3. As we get older our musical preferences expand and change. - Although that could stop for some of us at a certain age, once you startsimplyreminiscing about the “good ole days.” • What we choose and enjoy listening to can expand and change the way that we view the world around us.

  4. At one point in my life • I listened almost exclusively to rap/hip-hop music

  5. Older Rappers Newer Rappers

  6. Reasons for this Choice • The catchy beats and lyrics • The cool personas • The influence from friends

  7. Effect • Close-minded towards other’s viewpoints

  8. The Turning Point • The introduction of the band, “My Morning Jacket” • Getting a job as a wedding DJ

  9. My Morning Jacket • Good friend introduced me to a hometown band starting to “blow-up” • Sounded like something I had never heard before. • Instantly hooked

  10. Becoming a Wedding DJ • Introduced me to a vast variety of music

  11. Changes in myself • Became more open-minded • Helped me realize and appreciate the vast differences among people
