Hybrids @ Tri-C Ahybrid course: • combines online learning with face-to-face classroom instruction • reduced amount of time spent in the classroom • class time involves essential structured learning activities • online instruction provides the student more flexibility
Pedagogical TTD list • Re-examine course goals and objectives • Consider what do you want your students to know • Transition from lecture centered to more learner centered (Active Learning)
Communicate high expectations • Create shorter, lower stakes assessments • Design rubrics • Avoid common tendency to cover too much material • Develop learning activities for f2f & online
Face to face activities • Orientation • Introduce Bb • Present information which needs context interpretation processing • Analyze • Synthesize • Find application to their lives
