  2. Appearance • Bats have no feathers on their wings. • Bats have small bodies like a bird. • Some bats have fur.

  3. Movement • Bats’ movement is flying. • Bats can fly as fast as a jet. • They can fly without crashing into each other.

  4. What they eat • Bats eat fish, insects and nectar. • They hunt for fish and insects at night. • Bats have long tongues so they can get nectar from the flower.

  5. Babies • A bat’s baby is called a pup. • When pups grow their mother teaches them how to hunt. • The pups hold onto their mother’s belly when they hunt for food.

  6. Habitat • Bats live in a cave. • A million bats can live in one cave. • There are roosts in caves. • Roosts are where they sleep.

  7. Interesting Facts • Bats will not get stuck in your hair when they fly past you. • Some bats can fit in your hands. • They use their feet for roosting.
