Security Group Management Consider the workflow for security by the need for the following: • Do certain users perform the same functions? • What users share Property/Repair Center Assignment?
User Management • Types of Logins • Standard Login • LDAP • SSO • SAML • User Security Groups • Preferences Tab • Window Access and Data Access
Form Management • Customized forms can be created to enhance end users’ interface with the system • Can be assigned by Repair Center, Security Group, User • Can override existing form • Hide Form tabs that are not used/required • Enhances end users’ workflow
Text Management Rename fields on forms to match location reference name. • Facility to Campus • Area to Room • Trade to Craft • Technician to Personnel
Tab Management • Control the creation of tabs by non-admin personnel • Do NOT allow users to Edit or Delete tabs • Consider carefully the assignment of tabs • Don’t overwhelm end users with non-essential tabs
Custom Query Management • Force non-admin personnel to always have private queries (at user level, not system-wide) • Create an active custom query for any record group that has many inactive records, and make the active query the default for Browse tab
Report Management Report Writer • Set a policy for end users to make their reports private if they are intended for that user only • Set Public Reports to be Public/No Edit • Filter reports by Repair Center (if more than one RC) • Ensure users fill out the description field when writing a report and add their initials to indicate who wrote it
Create a Policies & Procedures Guide • Document Administrative Settings • LDAP, Security Groups, etc. • Document User Group Workflows • Administrators • Users • Supervisors/Leads • Technicians • Document Form and Text Changes
