Delta • A plain formed at the mouth (end) of a river where the river flow loses velocity (speed) and deposits sediment (rock and sand) • Nile River Delta
Glacier • A huge, slow moving mass of snow and ice
Gulf • A large area of sea or ocean that is partially enclosed by land; usually larger than a bay • Gulf of Mexico
Island • An area of land completely surrounded by water • Australia • Greenland
Isthmus • A narrow strip of land that connects two larger areas of land • Isthmus of Panama
Peninsula • An area of land almost completely surrounded by water • Florida • India
Plain • A large area of flat or gently rolling land, usually covered with grasses
Plateau • A large, flat area of land that rise above the surrounding land; at least one side has a steep slope
Sea • A body of salt water that is smaller than an ocean.
Strait • A narrow stretch of water that connects two larger bodies of water
