What is the purpose of the Treaty of Versailles? • The treaty of Versailles basically forced Germany to accept the responsibility of causing the war. They were forced to make reparations to the price of 32 billion dollars which is roughly 393 billion dollars today. Germany’s economy was already in complete disarray. The treaty also forced Germany to surrender control of their colonies. Initially at first Germany didn’t want to sign the treaty but they were left with no other choice, So, they eventually signed it under a new government.

The Treaty of Sevres • was the peace treaty between the Ottoman Empire and Allies at the end of World War I. • The Straits of the Dardanelles to be controlled by the allies • Saudi Arabia became independent • Turkey lost the rights to Sudan and Libya • Eastern Thrace and some Turkish Aegean Islands were given to Greece • Mesopotamia, Palestine and Syria became League of Nation mandates and were to be run by France and Britain.
The Treaty of Lausanne • The Sevres peace treaty imposed by the Allies on the Ottoman Empire after World War I had virtually destroyed Turkey as a national state. The treaty was not recognized by the nationalist government under Mustafa Kemal Pasha. • Treaty of Sevres was altered at Lausanne • Constantinople was given back to Turkey
