A person who habitually spreads intimate or private rumors or facts. • “I don’t want to gossip, I just wanted to let you know.” • Well, I would say this even in front of them…” • “If it’s true it’s not gossip.”

Sins of the Tongue • Gossip • What Can We Do About It? • Avoid It (Prov. 20:19, Matt. 18:15-17) • Mark Them (Rom. 16:17) • “He who goes about as a talebearer reveals secrets; Therefore do not associate with one who flatters with his lips.” – Prov. 20:19 • “Now I urge you, brethren, note those who cause divisions and offenses, contrary to the doctrine which you learned, and avoid them.” – Rom. 16:17

  7. Sins of the Tongue • Grumbling • A complaint or protest that stems from one’s discontent. To utter complaints in a nagging or discontented way.

  10. Sins of the Tongue • Filthy Language / Profanity • Lewd, indecent or immodest talk. Characterized by obscenity or indecency; including vulgar words, phrases and sexual innuendos. • To Profane the honor of something sacred, treating it as common. Abusive, vulgar, or irreverent language.
