  1. Second Grade Newsletter November 2013 A Note from Your Teachers: *Please continue to practice addition and subtraction facts at home with your children. As we learn the strategies to add and subtract two-digit numbers, knowing the facts automatically makes it much easier for the students. *Please also continue to practice telling time with your children. It is a difficult process and the more practice they get, the easier it will become. Units of Study: *Native Americans: Pueblo, Powhatan, and Lakota *Geometry: solid figures, congruent shapes, and slides, flips, and turns *Computation: Two-digit addition and subtraction *Magnets: attract, repel, poles American Education Week: *Second grade classes will be putting on a performance for parents in the musicroom on Wednesday, November 20. You may also eat lunch with your child on this day. If you have questions about your child’s lunch schedule, please contact your teacher. *AEW Schedule: Campbell: 11:05 Christie: 9:05 Dingus: 9:35 Maynard: 10:05 Ra: 10:35 Dates to Note: November 5 & 6 *Teacher work days November 7 *Beginning of 2nd quarter November 13 *Report cards sent home November 18-22 *American Education Week November 27-29 *Thanksgiving Break
