  1. TIP OF THE WEEK - March 17, 2014 What is a “Non-Reportable” Claim?

  2. Answer: • When the filing instructions on a claim (Block 39) indicate the claim is a “no lost time, no medical expense” claim, the ICPA will click “SUBMIT” just as any claim, however the EDI application will not submit the claim form to OWCP. • Instead, these claims are retained in the Rejected and Rerouted Claims portion of the application to allow access at a later date. • If the claim becomes a lost time or medical expenses are claimed later, it can be accessed and submitted to OWCP. • You will need to “ADD” an additional filing instruction when you submit a “NR” to OWCP. Block 39 will have two items checked. If you have a question or topic for Tip of the Week, contact your District 6 liaison, Jacksonville, FL
