The influence of the masss media could be reduced if: citizens are educated regarding the importance of preserving national cultures the possible negative effectsof foreign television programming on Caribbean society are highlighted local programme producers and directors are encouraged to create more local music, dance, drama and films

  3. local businesses are encouraged to support and sponsor locally produced produced programmes and events funding is provided to encourage more local production there is good provision of education and training for preparing for work in the media.
