  3. Topics Examine the relationship between justice and the Wheel of Fortune in King Lear. Is fortune predetermined by fate or does it rest in the hands of the characters In Elizabethan era, women were typically seen as docile, obedient, and fragile beings whereas men were expected to be powerful, strong (mentally and physically), and fearless. By examining the gender and power relations in King Lear, determine whether the characters in the play fit these stereotypes. Explain the purpose of the letters and the outcomes that they provoke in King Lear. Conflict is indispensible to drama. Show that King Learpresents both an outward and inward conflict. “Lear’s initial crime against his paternity is fittingly balanced by his elder daughters’ disregard of all natural feeling, and this double reversal of the order of ‘nature’ demands, once set afoot, a complete working out in terms of tragic disunity.” Examine. Provide a close and analytical examination of the use and forms of imagery throughout the play King Lear. Assess it’s usefulness and effectiveness.
