  1. Google Smart Display Campaigns By: Ben Moskel

  2. What is a Google Smart Display Campaign? A new feature that Google is offering to certain Adwords users. • It optimizes using your target CPA and account history. • Requires none of the typical targeting criteria. • Currently in BETA (as of December 2016)

  3. Why Use a Smart Display Campaign? Requires less manual labor and uses computerized learning to achieve your target cpa goals. Requires less creative. You provide several headlines, descriptive text, and images. The campaign creates various banner sizes to fill available inventory. It optimizes for the best combination of headline, descriptive text, and image.

  4. Case Studies • Case Study One: We set up a new display campaign with a target CPA of $6 for a 5-field lead form. We gave the campaign a daily budget of $100. We gave the campaign two headlines, four descriptions, and two images. Volume was immediately good hitting the daily budget at a cpa under our target goal. Additionally, we received conversions from display inventory that previously had not generated significant lead volume.

  5. Case Studies • Case Study Two: We set up a new display campaign with a target CPA of $13 for a sign up. We gave the campaign a daily budget of $100. We gave the campaign two headlines, four descriptions, and two images. Volume was immediately good hitting the daily budget. The cpa was in the $20 range for days 1-4. On day 5 forward the cpa was at or just above the target $13 cpa. Additionally, we received conversions from display inventory that previously had not generated significant lead volume.
