  3. Dylan thomas • Published his first book of poems at the age of 20 • Moved to London and worked for the British Broadcasting Corporation • Wrote stories and plays, including Under Milk Wood, and A Child’s Christmas in Wales

  4. Dylan thomas • Began giving public readings, which gained him popularity • Thomas’s verse is similar to that of the King James Bible and Welsh preaching • Known to be talkative and witty, but suffered from alcoholism

  5. Dylan thomas • Drinking eventually interfered with his marriage to Caitlin Macnamara • Also affected his writing; he only produced a small amount of poetry • Died of acute alcoholism on November 9th, 1953 at the age of 39
