Sustainable Energy Generation • Renewable energy - solar, wind, animal & human energy generation • Mono wheel generators • Cycles and its uses; with minor modifications cycles, useful for water pumping, spraying, filtration, veg cutting, etc for agriculture and other uses • Swing irrigation pump

Adivasi Ashram Shalas (AAS) • Located in the remote areas the AAS bear the maximum power outages and the studies of children normally stops at dusk. • To provide a level playing ground and an equal opportunity to them the Mono Wheel Genset has been conceived. The generation capacity needs to be improved by design modifications and Vigyan Ashram located in Rural Poona Dist is willing and has started the work. They require support

Advantages of Mono Wheel Genset • Low cost, low space requiring tool for illuminating AAS, using human energy. • Provides sports, each student peddles for 20/30 minutes no fatigue but exercise. • Good for AAS with large coed students strength – low cost and assured lighting. • Charging possible at any time of day/night & during monsoon. • Uses health giving human energy.

  12. Energy Conservation • Home sector uses 30% energy • Street lights use about 1 to 2% • Commercial establishments use 20 to 25% • Balance used by others. • If these first three users conserve even 10 to 15% of their usage additional power will be available for all • How this can be achieved?

Future Plans • Expand Organic Farming and involve students of AAS to produce their own food. • Organize income generation at local level for healthy self confidence amongst farmers. • Work with Nomadic tribes (Bhatkyas/Vanjaras) • Improve and expand human and animal powered including Cycle Gensets to generate self confidence. • Target its use in large numbers. • Empower the youth and women thru vocational training at AAS, Rural level for self employment • Team with CGSI to create awareness for energy conservation.

An appeal • Our Monowheel genset is working sucessfully since mid August 06 generating 30W per hour of peddling • Improvement in design is required to generate 60W • We have collaborated with Vigyan Ashram (www.vigyanashram.com) • They desire financial assistance of Rs 25,000 to improve mechanical and electrical design • We request ANARDE to sanction this amount to VA for this development.
