  4. Healing a Broken World’s ‘recommendation four’ challenges Jesuit institutions of higher education to “engage students in transformative education”. A third point under recommendation four calls for the development of resources and “curricula that address sustainability issues and impart a certain level of environmental literacy”. In a September 16, 2011 letter to the Society of Jesus, Superior General Adolfo Nicolás referenced Healing a Broken World and asked Jesuits to redouble their commitment to environmental education and stewardship.
