What happened exactly? • The chants from the crowds began when he joined his teammates on a 20 minute warm-down after the derby mauling. • It began by calling the Los Blancos defender “monkey” then they also turned their attention towards hos five year old son! They began to chant things such as “May your father die,”.. • In disbelief, he reportedly put his hands on his hips and shook his head in at them all. Many Spanish football games continue to repeat incidents of racism towards the players. • Bleacherreport.com says, “In November of 2013, Real Betis fans were condemned by FIFA president SeppBlatter for appearing to make racist gestures toward Paulao, their own player, per BBC Sport.” • BBC Sport reports that player Samuel Eto’o was also regularly suffering from racism during his time playing on Barcelona.
