    1. 5.7 Scale Drawings and Scale Models

    2. Definitions: Scale Drawing: is a two-dimensional drawing of an object that is proportional to the object.

    3. More definitions: Scale : Gives the relationship between the drawings measurements and the actual measurement. Ex: “1 in. = 2 ft” means that 1 inch in the drawing represents an actual distance of 2 feet.

    5. Using Proportions to find unknown scales The length of an object on a scale drawing is 8 cm, and its actual length is 48m. The scale is 1cm: ? m. What is the scale?

    6. Last definition: Scale Factor: The ratio of length in the drawing to the corresponding actual length. (Finding scale factors- Use same measurement units.)
