  2. What is CGMHN? • Emergency assistance for residents of the Groveport Madison School District • Programs connecting resources to people • Service volunteer opportunity • 501(c)3 with the Internal Revenue Service

  3. Programs • Emergency Assistance • The Benefit Bank • Adopt-A-Family • Summer Lunches • Senior Lunch Outreach • Marty DuBoe Muncy Scholarship

  4. Emergency Assistance • Rent up to $300 • Utility (water, gas, electric) up to $200* • Medical up to $150 • Auto repair up to $150 *Increase from 2010

  8. Summer Lunches • Free summer meals for kids 18 and younger • Served June-August, Mon-Fri, 11:30-12:30p • Subsidized by USDA • 100% volunteer operated

  9. Senior Lunch Outreach • Started in March 2009 • Connects shut-in seniors & disabled with 8th grade students from GM Jr High • Students matched with driver and deliver hot meal • 2009 Spring – funded 100% by donor • 2009/10 & 2010/11 – recipient pays $1 of $2.75 meal • 2011/12 – 19 recipients paying no additional $

  10. Marty DuBoe-Muncy Scholarship • Began in early 2009 • Desire of Marty’s to provide opportunities for children to participate in recreational sports • In collaboration with the Groveport Recreation Center • Free lunch – 75%, Reduced lunch – 50% • Last year - $500 distributed

Additional Activities • Waffle House Spirit Night – 1st Friday every month • Groveport School District Flower Sale – Spring & Fall • Poverty Simulation – January 2011 • Mad About Madison – April 2011; April 21, 2012 • Summer Concert Series – June to August, 3rd Sunday @ Heritage Park • Groveport Farmers’ Market – June-September 2011 • Shred-It Event – August 2011 • Kids Fest & Back to School Dunk Tank – August 2011 • Groveport Car Show – September 2011 • Apple Butter Day vendor – 2nd Saturday in October • Giving Thanks Choral Concert – Sunday before Thanksgiving • Family Crisis Response • Power Philanthropy (Columbus Foundation) • Madison Township & Groveport Calendar • Community Garden • Basics in Budgeting Workshop - 2012
