Introduction – About Us • New Dimensions Soccer Corporation is a nonprofit corporation and is organized exclusively for charitable, educational, health, social welfare and community betterment purposes by providing instruction in moral and character development; integrating immigrants into the St. Louis community via soccer and sportsmanship while fostering international understanding. • We are a 100% volunteer organization, and is recognized as a charitable organization under the Federal Income Tax section 501(c)(3) of the Internal code.
Introduction – About Us • Our capacity to create and learn is built upon five (5) principles/disciplines, crucial to the success and longevity of the organization: • Team Learning: learning how to recognize patterns of optimal team interactions. • Shared Vision: sharing “pictures of the future” that foster genuine commitment and enrollment rather than compliance. • Understanding Mental Models: Similar to Team Building, embracing this discipline allows us to question the “way we’ve always done it.” • Personal Mastery: communicating our vision in an effective manner and deepening that vision by being committed to lifelong learning. • Systems Thinking: understanding the connectedness of the patterns of the world around us as opposed to only seeing events in isolation. Seeing the “whole” as greater that a sum of its parts.
New Dimensions Philosophy • The ultimate focus of this effort is community betterment through the vehicle of athletics, in this case, soccer. • Outreach program that is multicultural and generative: • Multicultural in the sense that we strive to connect with refugee, immigrant children and their families new to St. Louis from war-ravaged countries as Liberia, Somalia, Afghanistan, and Russia, to name a few. • Generative in that the environment originates and stimulates continued physical, mental, and social growth.
