  1. What is livable wage? Livable wage is a wage sufficient to pay for basic needs.

What Are Basic Needs? • Food- but not restaurant meals • Rent and Utilities- such as heat, lights, and water, but not cable TV service • Basic Telephone -includes $10/mth long distance does not include internet charges or an additional cell phone • Clothing and Household expenses • Child Care- for those households with children and no stay-at-home parent (assuming that children are between four and six years old) • Health Care- including a portion of employer-provided health insurance and some out-of-pocket health care expenses • A small allowance for Personal Expenses (3% of a household budget)

  3. What is a livable wage in New Hampshire? • The lowest livable wage estimate is 10.10/hr. • It’s nearly twice New NH’s $5.85 min. wage. • The highest hourly livable wage estimate is $19.50.
