2. Do you know ? • Gerund is a verb + ing form that is used as a noun . Because of its function, the gerund can be : Subject , Object of the Verbs and Object of prepositions and also complements. (taken from a handbook of English grammar written by SlametRiyanto ) • Example : • Studying is important. • I love cooking. • She’s interested in climbing mountain.

3. The difference between Gerund & Present participle. • Present participle always followed by ‘to be’ because its function as a verb. • But, it doesn’t happen to Gerund since Gerund is not a verb.

5. as subject of a sentence Gerund can be followed by object or not. Example : Drawing posters is my ability. (with object) Drawing is my ability. (without object)

6. As object of certain verb Some verbs can be followed by the gerund form or the infinitive form without a big change in meaning • Example: • I like to eat fried eggI like eating fried egg. • It started to rain It stared raining.

7. A gerund frequently used as the object of preposition. We can put it afterpreposition. For Example : Jonghyun is good atsinging. Taemin is addicted withdancing. AS OBJECT OF PREPOSITION
