Class objective • Define, design, develop, and present new, useful computer systems creatively. • You must write an original paper or file a patent or get a system as a result • After this class • This will be your starting point of an advanced research • You can know the way to go for engineers to earn money from their research activities • You can learn how to graduate graduated course

Class detail • Lecture • Just used for organizing concept of topics and presentation with debating • You need to be self-motivated to debate • Real works should be done by team meetings • Team Project • Randomly selected 4 persons per 1 team. Max 4 teams. • Team should not be organized by same lab members. • Team should include undergraduate, M.S., and Ph. D. students. • Almost class behavior is made by this team. • Project topics • Sensor network middleware for next generation internet services • Goal • Complete a conference paper or a patent at the end of semester • Team meeting • Each team must have extra team meetings except the lecture. • After mid-term, each team should be needed a full-time work for this project

Team project • Class presentation • Each team has 30 mins for presentation every week • Used for progress report and comments from others • Group writing homework will be assigned every week • Grading • No mid-term and final exam. • Participation, homework and final products of project • The final writing quality of project • Enough to publication
