  3. Tuesday May 20, 2014 – Friday May 23, 2014 Students arrive at TMS at 4:30 am on Tuesday May 20th Buses depart at 5:00 am. We will return on Friday May 23rdaround 11pm. An ALERT NOW Call will go out when we arrive at the hotel on May 20th and when we are an hour away from TMS on May 23rd.   4. Monday May 19, 2014: • 3:30 pm – 5:30 pm – Luggage/Medication Check-in • All luggage and medication MUST be brought to the TMS Auxiliary Gym to be left overnight. You will not have access to your luggage until you get to the hotel Monday evening. • LUGGAGE CONTRACT - All parents will be asked to inspect their child’s luggage for anything they shouldn’t be bringing with them on the trip, that clothes meet school dress code and will need to sign a contract attesting to this fact on May 19th.   5. Luggage • 1 suitcase per person and 1 carry on. • It is recommended that students bring with them a string bag (with their name written on the inside or outside). These types of bags work very well for walking around the city to hold cameras, etc. This can be in addition to your suitcase and carry-on bag. • Dress appropriately – check the weather – bring a light jacket and/or rain coat. • Comfortable Shoes YOU WILL BE DOING A LOT OF WALKING

Shorts are recommended, but MUST meet the • Dress Code Policy. • Students who do not comply with dress code policy may not take part in the day’s activities. • All students and chaperones will be given 4 different colored t-shirts, one for each day.   8. Medications • Everyone should have turned in a medical form. Any medication that HAS to be taken or MAY have to be taken MUST have a medical form with a doctor’s signature. OTC Meds (Advil, Tylenol, Dramamineetc.) are included in this. • The only medications that a child can carry on their person are emergency medications (inhalers and epipens).  In order to carry those medications they need to have both the doctor and the parent sign the bottom portion of the medical form where it says “self-administration”.

  9. Medications • ALL Medications must be turned in during luggage check-in on Monday May 19th. They need to be in the original containers in a clear zip-lock bag clearly labeled with the students name, and what the proper dosage and time for administration are. • You must provide enough medication for the 4 days. • You can’t use someone else's.

  10. BUS RULES • Buses will always be secure if we are not on it. You can leave your personal items on it without worry. • Only snacks & water. NO SODA OR GUM AT ALL • Only personal electronic devices allowed on bus. • No electronic listening devices used during on site tours or bus tours. You are there to listen and learn.   11. BUS RULES • Your personal items are your responsibility, the bus company, tour company and Chaperones are NOT responsible for anything lost, damaged or stolen. • BUSES HAVE WIFI and Electrical Outlets • Only snacks & water.   12. Hotel Rules • 2 double beds with 4 people to a room (all the same gender). • Quiet hours begin at 10:30pm • BE RESPECTFUL OF THE HOTEL AND OTHER GUESTS AT ALL TIMES. NO RUNNING….. • Students will NOT be allowed to use the hotel pool. • Everyone must be in the rooms they are assigned to by 9:30 pm or within 30 minutes of our arrival back at the hotel. • Security on the floor all night. Doors will be taped after they are checked for proper people in there. This will let us know if anyone tries to escape.

SIGHTSEEING INFORMATION • Be respectful of other tourists at all sites. • No running or screaming. • Be mindful of our tour guides and listen to what they are telling you. • Drink lots of water so you stay hydrated (you will be doing a lot of walking). • Cash or voucher will be given for each meal – if you don’t use it for meals you will starve. • Everything is paid for. You would only need money for souvenirs and snacks on the bus and in the hotel. It is recommended you bring $50 - $75 – no more than that.   16. SIGHTSEEING INFORMATION • Final Itinerary is set. We will be doing the Wreath Laying at Arlington National Cemetery. • Once the Groups/Busses/Rooms are all set there is no jumping between them. Where you are assigned is where you must be. This will help to ensure that we have not lost anyone. • Adults– whether they are teachers, parents, bus drivers or tour guides must be respected and all their directions followed.   21. There is a TMS Washington DC Facebook Page and through that, there is a 2014 TMS Washington DC Trip Group. If you send me a request with your full name and the email address you use to sign onto Facebook I will add you to both. Pictures, videos and updates about the trip will be posted on the Facebook Page and in the group. The page is secure and only those who are friends of the page can see or post to it.   25. BEHAVIOR CONTRACT REMEMBER WHERE YOU ARE SECURITY IS KEY IN DC AND THERE IS NO JOKING ABOUT ANYTHING THAT COULD BE TAKEN AS A THREAT AGAINST THAT SECURITY.

  26. BEHAVIOR CONTRACT We at WorldStrides promote a tour atmosphere where chaperones and students support one another with genuine respect. As a student participant, it is your responsibility to help make the tour a positive and enjoyable experience for yourself, fellow students, and chaperones. All participants are expected to demonstrate high standards of conduct and to accept personal responsibility and consequences for their actions. You are expected to exhibit honesty, courteousness and consideration toward others. This includes those in your group, as well as anyone else with whom you may come in contact, such as Motorcoach Drivers, guides, other tourists and restaurant and hotel staff.   27. BEHAVIOR CONTRACT If the student should violate any of these rules, he/she may be sent home at the sole discretion of the chaperones/administrators.   28. SAFETY • All students will be issued a WorldStrideslanyard and emergency card. This must be kept with you at ALL times. Lanyards must be worn whenever you are not in your hotel room. • Emergency cards tell you what to do if you get lost or have an emergency. • It is VERY important to BE ON TIME. We have a very busy schedule and having to wait for one person can hold up the entire tour and cause us to miss something fun. • KNOW WHERE YOUR GROUP IS AT ALL TIMES.   29. REFUNDS All accounts have had their refunds sent out. They were sent back to you in the form of the original payment. GRATUITY FOR TOUR GUIDES The only thing not included in the trip was a gratuity for the tour guides. A box will be available for families to give something toward the gratuity at luggage check-in. THE NAMES AT THE TOP OF EACH GROUP ARE THE CHAPERONES IN CHARGE OF YOUR GROUP. PLEASE TAKE A MOMENT TO FIND OUT WHAT GROUP YOU ARE IN, WHO YOUR CHAPERONES ARE AND WHAT BUS YOU ARE ON.
