  1. RÖNESANS • İtalya’da Ortaçağ papaları ile imparatorlar arasında anlaşmazlıklar başladı. Papalık eski önemini yitirmiş ve şehir aristokrat aileler tarafından yönetilmeye başlamıştı, yönetim şekli cumhuriyetti. Bu aristokratların en ünlüsü Medici’ler, bir diğeri de Fugger’lerdi. Avrupa’nın en güçlü devleti Venedik’ti. Ticaret, endüstri ve bankacılık o dönemin ekonomisini oluşturmaktaydı.
