Careers • Bus drivers – need to go to driving school for CDL’s in order to drive a bus • Construction workers – build and maintain bridges and roads and tunnel systems for cars, truck, buses, and trains. • Engineers – planning design and management of any mode of transportation to make it comfortable, convenient. • Cab drivers – move people from location to location in cities and towns. • Limo drivers –A person that is employed to drive passengers around in a motor vehicle mostly used for luxury. • Truckers – provides a needed service to industrialized societies by transporting goods and different materials over land and requires pain and hard labor. • Electricians- an individual tradesperson; an electrical contractor is a business that employs electricians to design, install, and maintain electrical systems. • Contractors – people who build and maintain the highways and bridges.

  4. Salary • Truckers - $54,000 • Limo drivers - $40,000 • Cab drivers - $22,440 • Bus drivers – $25,000 • Highway Engineers-$54,008 • Construction – $32,000 • Electricians – $68,000 • Contractors - $85,000

Education • Bus drivers – must pass their CDL (commercial driver’s license). • Construction workers -complete on-the-job training; be at least 18 years old; be in good physical condition; and have high school diploma. • Civil Engineers – 4 year college degree, plus Master’s degree • Cab drivers – must pass CDL

  6. Education continued… • Limo drivers – must pass CDL • Truckers – must pass CDL • Electricians- 4 year college degree • Contractors – get a bachelor's degree

  7. Careers in Land Transportation Land transportation is important because we need to help people get around the country. This is really important because if it’s hot or cold outside nobody doesn’t have to walk in the heat or cold. This is important because people don’t have to carry heavy loads of goods and can be delivered in the fastest and at the cheapest cost.
