Event Costs • Varsity Football - $7.00 • Parking = $5 (Free in softball lot & shuttle from HTMS) • JV/9th Football - $5/adults, $3/students • Other Sports - $5/adults, $3/students • Playoffs determined by GHSA • STUDENT ALL-SPORT PASSES • Purchase at Fall Madness • $75 –admission to any home regular season game
Athletic Eligibility & Physicals • General Eligibility Rules • Must pass 5/6 courses each semester (2.5 credits) • All first-time, entering 9th graders are eligible in fall • 10th need 5 credits, 11th-11 credits, 12th-17 credits • Only allowed 8 semesters from start of 9th grade • GHSA requires an annual physical exam • No athletic participation of any kind without a physical • Physical must be completed after April 1st to be good for the next year (2014-15 = April 1, 2014) • Use our HARD COPY form – Blue form this year • Concussion Awareness Form • Required for each sport by GA State Law (‘13-’14) PHYSICAL DAY FREE Physicals April 26th 9am-12pm Resurgens

Multi-Sport Athletes • It makes them a better overall athlete • It makes them a more competitive athlete • It keeps an athlete from potentially being burned out by one sport • All of our Pope programs are made better/stronger when we share athletes • The entire Pope coaching staff really cares about each other’s program and support one another however we can • we truly do have a family atmosphere at Pope with our sports/coaches • We don’t have as many students as other schools do, so we need ALL of our athletes to play multiple sports if possible to stay competitive #PopeFamily
Athletic Code of Conduct • CCSD—minimum http://www.cobbk12.org/centraloffice/adminrules/I/IDF-R.pdf • 365 days/24 hours a day, in/out of season, on/off school grounds • Infractions MUST be reported or the penalties will be doubled and/or increased • Primarily targets drugs/alcohol (offenses are cumulative) • 1stOffense-25 calendar suspension from athletics; 30% of regular season competitions; GRIP program • 2nd Offense-one calendar suspension from athletics • 3rd Offense-permanent suspension from CCSD athletics • Felonies-suspension last until resolved • F7= Any act at school or away from school which, in the opinion of the Principal reflects in a negative manner on the school, athletic program, or activity. (ie: Social Media) • Individual Team Policies • Some programs have more severe Codes of Conduct (ex: boys LAX) • Suspension • ISS—no athletic participation if a student serves any part of the day in ISS (ends that day) • OSS—no athletic participation or attendance to any school function through the duration of OSS and until he/she returns to school (carries through the weekend/holidays)

Booster Clubs • Supportive organization • Mostly financial • Critical to maintain a level of competitiveness with our opponents • Supplements what the school can provide • Membership is crucial • Almost each program has their own booster club • Booster club fees cover the “extras” • Player packs, Banquets, Uniforms, Equipment • Coaches gifts, Facility Improvements

College Requirements • Overview-D1 • New standards starting with Class of 2016. www.eligibilitycenter.org • 2.3 GPA needed • 10 core courses before begin 12th grade (16 total needed) • Sliding scale change • EOCT Test-Out Option • NCAA will not recognize these test scores! • DII & NAIA Requirements have been changed as well
