  2. Introduction • Thales of Miletus was the first known Greek philosopher, scientist, and Mathematician. • Born- 624 B.C. • Died- at age78 in around 547 B.C. • Came from a distinguished family • No writings = Not much info

Mathematical Theorems • Thales was the first to introduce Greek Mathematics and science. • He was also the first Greek Mathematician. • He created five theorems of basic geometry. • At first they were very difficult to use but as people got used to using them they got easier. InterestingFact He once measured Pyramid by there shadow!

  4. Scientific Theorems • Thales was also the first Greek scientist. • One theory = He believed that Earth was like a disk that floated on a large body of water. Interesting Fact Thales once predicted an eclipse on May 28, 585 B.C.
