In our first meeting - 22 Apr 2017 • Installation of new student welfare committee • Understanding of Committee’s purpose • Ways to figure out students needs • Members exchanged their opinion / views on students needs • Members decided to survey ground reality through a questionnaire • Chalk out our course of action based on survey results. Pulling our socks up

  5. Sent Student related questionnaire (online) to VCAT Members and CA Students Requested students to provide their honest opinion.

Way forward • Concept Stage* • How to reach larger section of student by • our committee? • Two day sessions on Motivation + Technical topics • by Eminent Speakers to empower students • Conduct work shops on topics of current relevance • Start blog :” VCAT writes for students” • Creation of Student Help Desk • Running PG exclusively for CA Students to ensure conducive study environment • * • Yet to test feasibility

Way forward • Concept Stage* • How to reach larger section of student by • our committee? • Lend Reference Materials “ VCAT Library” for • short term period. • Share Check list / Templates for students’ reference to improve themselves. [As noted, All are not getting equal work exposure] • Host Article Vacancy details in website. • Provide chance to involve them in Research Activities [ it’s right time to learn art of research under finest intellectuals of VCATs; please note never encourage at the cost of their study] • Start decentralized Reading Rooms across Bangalore.

Our understanding of students problems and possible solutions Study related : Planning, Preparation and Presentation Work Exposure Financial Assistance Accommodation Communication and Other soft skills • Counseling, • Sessions by Expert speakers, • Lend books • Motivational Sessions • Study Circles • Case studies • Sessions on IT like Excel, Tally etc., • Engaging students in research • Workshops • Helping students to leverage Sponsorships / Scholarships from Institutes and other entities; • Provide Scholarships # • Approaching other hostel trustees • Run PG model accommodation # • Confidence building sessions • Debates • Quiz • # Yet to test feasibility
