Russian Revolution • Before 1917, Russia was an autocracy meaning the czar had complete power. • The last of the czars was Nicholas II Romanov • During WWI, Russia did not do well, millions of Russians were killed and citizens did not have enough food to eat. • The Czar and his family were captured and Russia’s government was overthrown.
