ELL: English Language LearnerESL: English as a Second Language • ELL classes provide a language-rich, caring environment for students to learn English through movement, music, pictures, stories, games, and conversation. • ELL curriculum is aligned with Ithan’s Language Arts curriculum standards • Small groups in ELL classroom and regular classroom • Progress Reports

Program Entrance and Exit • Entrance • Standardized test given to all new students who speak two or more languages • Students with an overall composite score above 4.6 do not need ELL services • Exit • Standardized testing results: • ELL Access Test: overall composite score 5.0 or above • PSSA: score “Basic” level or above • Report Cards • RTSD Benchmark Tests • Monitoring: 2 years
