The Beginning of the End! • Welcome Seniors: Class of 2012 • Information Cards • Are you in the right place? • Ms. Kordis Rocks! • HW: Parent/Guardian email • Review Syllabus Essential Question: How does a study of the course syllabus promote success in that course? Content Objective: Identify resources on school website to facilitate success in Ms. Kordis’ class. Language Objective: Explain to a partner how to access homework and daily lessons for Ms. Kordis’ class.

  2. Information cards On the back of the card: List any hobbies, interests or other issues you care to share with me.

  3. Are you in the right place? • Take the quiz “How well do you know the United States?” • Correct quiz • As a prospective citizen (aka immigrant) you would need to score 80% to pass (20 or higher) on a more rigorous, lengthy and ORAL examination. • Discuss with your neighbor how you scored and what you believe led to earning that score. • On the back, reflect on your current knowledge of these few elements about our country. Where or how did you learn these facts? How is it that some scored higher than others (on the first day of class )?

  4. Ms. Kordis Rocks! • Teacher Website accessible via the Vista High Website • Homework, power points, most materials and announcements will be posted there • If you are absent, please check website BEFORE returning to class. • It is in your benefit to stay as current as possible with the class lessons/homework and activities.

  5. HOMEWORK: • Review syllabus and have parent/guardian email me with the information at the end of the syllabus.
