MINDS eHealth Overview A project aimed at reducing health disparities of African Americans by increasing awareness of, access to, and utilization of the wealth of science based, user friendly health resources compiled in the National Library of Medicine’s (NLM) databases Funded by United Negro College Fund Special Programs Corporation & The National Library of Medicine

MINDS eHealth Purpose To develop and evaluate an informatics intervention including Peer-based training delivered to the MSU campus and surrounding community through a network of trusted campus and community institutions A customized web portal to NLM databases for African Americans to obtain health information Curricular integration of the NLM databases in the MSU public health and social work programs The purpose of is to develop and evaluate, an intervention that includes 1) a customized web portal to NLM databases for African Americans; 2) peer-based training delivered to the MSU campus and surrounding community through a network of trusted campus and community institutions; and 3) syllabus integration of the NLM databases in the MSU public health and social work curricula to prepare the next generation of helping professionals to sustain utilization and dissemination of eHealth in the African American community.
