  5. Kindergarten Homework Beginning Monday, October 1, 2012: 1st Quarter Reading Homework Monday: Choose a book from home or from the library. Parent will read the book aloud to child. Discuss what is the front and back cover of the book and the title page. Tuesday: Re-read book. Ask: “What is an author?” “What is an illustrator” Wednesday: Have child retell story. Count the number of words in the book’s title. Parent will chose a word from the title and child is to think of a rhyming word to go with it. 7. -FYI- • Have your child practice opening the food containers you send in their lunchbox. • Please leave water bottles at home. We have a water fountain in our classroom and students can get water anytime. We have too many spills when students bring their own bottles. • ALWAYS send your child to school in closed toe shoes. This is for their safety.

  8. Any Questions? Thank you so much for coming! We look forward to a great year!
