    2. Our mission We will open a large, permanent, 00-scale model railway in Markeaton Park, Derby, for the general public to enjoy.

    12. Who are we? Group of retired senior railway engineers and other professionals Registered charity No 1126173 Trustees, members, supporters

    13. What have we done so far? First approached Derby City Council December 2006 Constituted 1st August 2008 Registered charity No. 1126173 from 6th October 2008

    14. What have we done so far? Accepted gift of large model railway from Derek Chandley of Wilson near Melbourne in 2010. Model now in secure store.

    15. What have we done so far? Planning Permission February 2009, currently being renewed Famous Trains web site set up September 2009 www.famoustrains.org.uk

    16. What have we done so far? Added garden railway and model steam track to our strategy, June 2011 Lease term negotiated for 15 years in 2011 Council accepted extended project in principle late 2011

    22. The layout 00-scale, 40ft x 16ft, plus future extensions Based on Chinley station in 1950s-1960s. Four continuous main line tracks. Each with four hidden loops at back.

Help us gather model buildings for the layout or make some for us (contact Tony at theclarkes@gladsdale.co.uk) Make us some of the many semaphore signals we shall need (contact Colin at cpboocock@aol.com) Come to our meetings and let us have your ideas (again, contact Colin)

    27. What can you do? Gather models of trains that were seen at Chinley between 1950 and 1980. Gather suitable model trains of the modern kind also. Famous Trains will need to rent model trains from enthusiasts!
