  3. Materials Cost • 2 D-cell batteries- $1.50 • 2 Engines- about $3 • Weights-$1 in pennies • String-5 cents • Glue-$2 • Wheels- $6 for all 4 • Wire- 50 cents • Wood- 50 cents worth • Rubber Bands- 10 cents • Gears- $2 • Nylon Washers- 16 cents for all eight • Da button- $1.50 • Total: $18.31

  4. Why you should by our car • Doesn’t use gasoline, which is expensive • Lightweight • Keeps the air free from methane and other toxic gases • Quiet

  5. Car Design We decided that our car should run on batteries and motors. In order to make the car stop, we had to make some way to cut the power at around 5 meters. We decided that the most efficient way was to have a string wind around an axle, to eventually gain enough tension to cut the wire connection.

  6. Building process The creation of our car was limited to 20 hours, 4 of which took place at home. During that period, our car underwent much tweaking and idea transformations. We used a lot of hot glue.
