BALOCHISTAN EARTHQUAKE UPDATE AS ON 12 NOV 2008 Damages/ Losses Provision of Relief Items • Dead/ Injured • Dead - 166 Confirmed • Injured - 357 • Damages Assessment • 7000 – 10,000 People Displaced • 1500 – 2000 Houses Destroyed Employment of Mil/ CAF Resources & Civil Admin • Manpower • 2157 x all ranks committed. 500 persons ex police employed • 26x Medical Teams engaged (18x from Govt of Balochistan), 5x Static Clinic and Two Tertiary Hospital • 1 x Advance Dressing Station ex Army & 3x Medical Team ex Army & CAF • 7 x Team ex Army carried out damage assessment survey • Material • 15x Helicopters available/ engaged • 25 x C-130 arrived carrying relief goods • Medicines and medical stores delivered to affected areas • 19x Ambulances with emergency kit • 9x Dozer, 5xTransporter, 3x Excavators, • 3x FE Loader Donations • *600x winterized tents committed by Rotary Club and 1000 by Salvation Army • 6,000x one room shelters by different organizations. Construction starting within one week • WFP started supply of 2 months rations for 20,000 people with effect from 3 Nov 2008
