Challenges in transitions of lifelonglearning • adapting to new physical & virtualenvironments • differentteaching and learningapproaches • live, learn and work within new communities Transitionfrom SE to HE • students feel lost in HE > ineffective learning • studentslacklearning to learncompetencesnecessary in HE • high dropout rates in early HE years

Why this topic? • Effective learning to learn competences help learners to deal with transitions more effectively. • ICT (Social networks, digital media, serious games, virtual worlds, ePortfolio and blogs) • may support development of learning to learn competences. • If the same approaches/tools are used throughout SE and HE the transition phase may be easier for students and more effective in terms of learning.
