  4. Subgroups of processes 1. Bone head: a) separated from the body b) in articular cartilage

  5. Subgroups of processes 2. Tubercle: a) rounded processus b) attachement of muscles 3. Tuberosity: lesser elevation than tubercle

  6. Subgroups of processes 4. Condyle: a) rounded, joint-like process b) covered in articular cartilage

  7. Bone depressions • Openings • Hollow regions • Passageways for blood vessels or nerves • Help in making joints

  8. Subgroups of depressions 1. Fossa: a) shallow cavity b) attachment for muscles c) makes joints

  9. Subgroups of depressions 2. Foramen: opening for blood vessels or nerves

  10. Subgroups of depressions 3. Fissure: narrow, deep, slit-like opening
