  1. HIBSHMAN / STAUFFER SCHOLARSHIPS • February 12, 2014 – Pick up the application forms in the Guidance Center. • March 19, 2014 – Due date to return the completed application – late applications are NOT accepted.

  2. Mr. Hibshman Do your research and know who he was and some history on the scholarship. His Will states the scholarships are to be awarded to the “most deserving boys and girls” of the graduating class of Ephrata High School who reside in the Ephrata Area School District (min. 1 full year). “Most deserving” is defined as worthy or meritorious and is determined by the Scholarship Committee based on: 1. Academic Status 2. Need Status

  3. academic status (55%) encompasses the following: • Class Rank (i.e. grades) • SAT Scores • Co-curricular Activities • In-school • Community / church-related • Student Character • Attendance (including tardies) • Behavior (discipline issues) – 4 yrs.

  4. NEED STATUS (45%) ENCOMPASSES: • Information provided from: • The Application • You must provide FAFSA documentation for financial information. • Make sure your application is legible. • The Interview – Review the interview suggestions carefully.

  5. Remember: • 1. Must have Graduation Project completed by 3/31/14. • Interview Dates: April 30 – p.m., May 1 & 2: all day • This is a competitive scholarship – not everyone who applies will receive one. • 2. Final scores are always very close so every point counts. • 3. The decision of the committee is final.

  6. The Committee Includes: • President of the Ephrata National Bank • President of the EASD School Board • Superintendent of Ephrata Area School District • Principal of Ephrata High School • Mayor of the Borough of Ephrata • Minister from the local ministerium for the Stauffer Scholarship applicants

  7. Stauffer Scholarship: This is a faith-based scholarship
