  2. Module One-Security Features of Genuine Documents Front cover: Passport covers are generally of high quality and are designed to last the lifetime of the passport. The front cover often contains a variety of security features. Check it carefully. Is the cover firmly attached? Does it show signs of tampering, excess glue around the edges or tearing?

  3. Module One-Security Features of Genuine Documents • ·    High quality printing • ·    Lettering is horizontal and of uniform height • ·   Words and crest are centered • ·   High quality gold embossed blocking

(Look for signs of erasure and substitution of a new number) • ·     All pages should be in proper sequence • ·   Page numbers are in the same place on each page. • ·   Total number of pages should be indicated in the passport • ·        Color of pages is consistent from page to page

Module One-Security Features of Genuine Documents Needle Print • ·  Passport number is perforated or burned in each page (Check for perforations which do not line up) • ·    Holes are even and round • ·    Numbers are straight and of the same quality (check if the same number is perforated through the entire document)

Same handwriting? Same font? • Do the details fit the individual in front of you (sex,age,height and weight).

  50. Module five-Belgium • ·Belgium : !! VERY IMPORTANT !! Nationals who are visa exempted to enter Belgium, can not stay longer than 90days spread in asemester (= 6 months). For longer stays than 3 months spread over 6 months, these nationals must have a valid visa (D). As a consequence, this means that you need to check the entry and exit stamps in the passport of every passenger (even visa-exempted nationals).
