  2. Pump Controls • 3-way Style (PVWW/PVWJ) • Typically used in circuits where fast response times are not necessary.

  3. 3- way Control Circuit

  4. 3- way Pressure vs Volume

  5. Pump Controls • 3-way Style (PVWW, PVWJ) • Typically used in circuits where fast response times are not necessary. • 4-way Style (PVG, PVV) • Typically used in circuits where fast response is critical.

  14. P-LNN • We offer a low pressure version of the PVWJ pump. The designator for this control is P-LNN. This control will allow the pump to go to a minimum compensator setting of approximately 150 psi. The pumps maximum pressure limit is 1500 psi.

  17. Changes in the Control • The PVWJ-P-1 pressure compensating control is functionally the same as the previous PVWH-CN control with improvements to the control to; increase stability, reduce control generated noise, and ease of field adjustment. Some of these changes are: • New dampened compensator spool

  18. PVWJ Control Changes • New Compensator Spool PVWJ PVWH

  19. Changes in the Control • The PVWJ-P-1 pressure compensating control is functionally the same as the previous PVWH-CN control with improvements to the control to; increase stability, reduce control generated noise, and ease of field adjustment. Some of these changes are: • New dampened compensator spool • Dual compensator springs

  20. PVWJ Control Changes • Dual Compensator Springs

  22. Changes in the Control • The PVWJ-P-1 pressure compensating control is functionally the same as the previous PVWH-CN control with improvements to the control to; increase stability, reduce control generated noise, and ease of field adjustment. Some of these changes are: • New dampened compensator spool • Dual compensator springs • New compensator adjustment assembly

  23. PVWJ Control Changes • New Adjustment Assembly • Shims are now used to increase the maximum pressure, instead of reducing pressure as in the PVWH series Spring Seat and O-ring Seal The screw that holds the adjustment shims, screws in to the pressure adjusting screw.

  24. PVWH vs. PVWJ PVWJ PVWH

  25. Changes in the Control • The PVWJ-P-1 pressure compensating control is functionally the same as the previous PVWH-CN control with improvements to the control to; increase stability, reduce control generated noise, and ease of field adjustment. Some of these changes are: • New dampened compensator spool • Dual compensator springs • New compensator adjustment assembly • New control housing • NO GASKETS!!

  26. PVWJ • As you can see in the photo on the right, the pump housing has been machined to accept an o-ring to seal the case. • The compensator inlet o-ring has been relocated to pump housing

  27. PVWJ Control Orifices • Standard Control Stability Orifice Sizes • PVWJ-011/014/022 .040” (1,016 mm) • PVWJ-025/034/046 .040” (1,016 mm) • PVWJ-064/076/098/130 .050” (1,27 mm) • All standard orifices are drilled 10-24 X ¼” hollow hex set screws.

  34. P-1NN/FNN What’s Missing? Compensator Inlet Compensator Spring Drain The spool drain!

  35. P-1NN/F and P-LNN/F • In all P-1NN/F, P-LNN/F, P-C**, and P-K** controls the spool drains are not drilled. P-1NN P-1NN/F

  36. P-1NN/FNN vs P-1NN/FSN • The pictures to the right show an “A” frame PVWJ without a maximum volume stop, and a P-1NN/FSN control with a maximum stop. • Unlike the PVWH, the PVWJ incorporates a transition block which allows the LS module to be rotated 90° to facilitate a maximum stop. This eliminates the need to relocate the module to the top of the control housing. Adjustable LS Option Fixed LS Option

  37. P-1NN/F • Options for the PVWJ load sense modules: • F = Fixed D P 170 psi • J = Adjustable D P 100-220 psi • K = Adjustable D P225-350 psi Fixed module is shown

  39. Load Sense Control • Primarily used on mobile equipment to help minimize wasted horsepower. • Allows thepump maintain a constant flow regardless of pressure, within ± 5%. • Helps minimize heat generated in the system. • By maintaining a constant DP across a customer supplied restriction, i.e. flow control, proportional valve, etc.

  43. Why Use a Load Sense over a Pressure Compensated Control? • Cost • Stability • Ability to remote compensate more than a single pump.
