  6. What is an Interactive Whiteboard? • The best definition is that an Interactive whiteboard is really just a large format mouse! http://www.kmaegypt.net

  7. What equipment do I need? http://www.kmaegypt.net

  8. Any questions on the setup or the board itself?

  9. Installing the Software & Server? • Insert the CD that came with the Touch IT Board (or download the installation files from www.touchittechnologies.com) • The CD contains the server application and the Wiz teach content. You need to install both. • When you have installed the software, there will be two icons on your desktop. • In order to connect the Touch IT Board to your computer, the server must always be running. There should always be the icon next to the clock in the system tray. When it is connected it is green, when it is not connected it is red. http://www.kmaegypt.net

  10. Why Touch / Touch IT Board? • Why is touch important? – Touch-based products are the future! http://www.kmaegypt.net

  11. HowdoestheTechnologyWork? • With Infrared • There are two types of LEDs (light emitting diodes) photo diode receivers and IR transmitters • Where you touch on the surface breaks the line of sight • The technology calculates an X and a Y position and sends the coordinates to the PC • The PC then turns the coordinates into a mouse position • A simple click represents a left click • A more prolonged ‘press and hold’ creates a right click. http://www.kmaegypt.net

  12. Touch IT Board • Designed especially for education • Our aim has been to design the ultimate interactive whiteboard • Taken the plus points from others on the market and put them into 1 product http://www.kmaegypt.net

  15. Wiz teach Educational Content • We will look at the software in more detail separately, but the main point to note is that every Touch IT Board comes with a single user licence of Wiz teach. • Extra licences can be bought in 5 user and whole site licences. • To change a licence, all that needs to happen is upgrade the product key. The software itself does not change. http://www.kmaegypt.net
