PRINCIPLE OF REGIONAL POLICY • The main principle of regional policy of the EU is financial solidarity to benefit of less developed regions and social groups to sustain competitiveness. • It helps their „convergency“ – to approach to more developed regions • Regional policy is often joined with policy of territorial cohensiveness.

  3. SUPPORT OF REGIONS DEVELOPMENT • Enlargement of the EU extended the regional disparity between constituent regions of member states • Data is monitored by EUROSTAT • Regions will get 350 billion eurs in 2007 - 2013
