Lantern Festival prepared around China Citizens enjoy lanterns in front of China Tower in Mawei of Fuzhou City, southeast China's Fujian Province, Feb. 5, 2009. The 7th lantern show in 2009 with 20,000 hand-made lanterns will take place in Mawei of Chinese mainland and Mazu of southeast China's Taiwan Province at the same time. Chinese Lantern Festival reception held in Brussels The Belgian-Chinese Economic and Commercial Council has held its annual Chinese Lantern Festival reception in Brussels. More than 600 guests attended the event. Preparations are underway for the Lantern Festival, which falls on Monday, the 15th day of the first lunar month. The whole country is decked out for the celebration.
